Balzac Paris is French clothing company whose particularity is to inspire their lines from famous French classical authors.
My mission was to illustrate Boris Vian’s most famous novel : L’Écume des Jours and design a jumper based on his poetic universe. With Les Fleurs Du Mal, the brief was to illustrate Charles Baudelaire’s renowned collection of poems in a feminine and romantic way. The same brief was given to Jane Austen’s legendary novel Orgueil et Préjugés. I decided to play on the “pride” part with an illustration of peacock feathers.
The final design, a mix of a handwritten font and illustrative vegetal elements illustrations, was embroidered which enhance the femininity of the piece.
